Designed directly in response to feedback from our customers for a stove suitable for smaller interiors, the Compact 5 might be the Blithfield’s little sister, but she packs no less of a punch! While the dimensions have been trimmed, nothing has been compromised when it comes to performance. No wonder it’s an award-winner!
The British made and Defra approved Blithfield Compact 5 wood and multi fuel stove is a slightly scaled down version of the best selling Blithfield. Clock have been very clever by retaining the same height of the original (570mm) whilst reducing the stove’s width (by 75mm) and depth (by 55mm) to make their compact version much more practical to install in a smaller fireplace opening. The 5.0kW nominal heat output hasn’t been sacrificed either so that the Compact 5 will still make the perfect choice for anyone looking for a superior built, state-of-the-art, simple – yet traditionally styled wood burning stove for a typical small to medium sized living space. The Blithfield Compact 5 is also 2022 Ecodesign compliant ensuring that its emissions when burning seasoned wood will have the minimum impact on local air quality. For the record, Ecodesign stoves are supported by Defra in their recent Clean Air Strategy* and the Mayor of London.
One of the biggest selling points of Clock stoves that our customers love has been the ultra-precise control they give you over the fuel burn rate and ultimately your fuel economy, whilst maintaining a clean glass whatever the stage of the burn cycle. It’s immediately obvious from the first time that you use the dual primary and secondary combustion air controls, which in The Stove Yard’s opinion are amongst the very best on any stove, that a Clock stove will be a sheer joy to use. These controls, as well as the handle, can be specified in standard stainless steel, or optional black finish (at no extra cost) or for just a little bit more, in solid brass. Again, for a small extra cost, you can also upgrade the standard black finish for your choice of colours (please ask for details) to further enhance your fireplace or interior. There’s a larger than average air washed window which provides an almost uninterrupted view of the flame pattern whilst the Compact 5’s pre-heated tertiary air ensures outstanding clean burning and excellent efficiency (81% / A+ Rated). Options include a factory fitted log box version, Direct External Air Supply (DEAS) and a rear heat shield.
To sum up, just like its bigger brother, the stylish Blithfield Compact 5 is an exceptional stove, which has been designed and built to give some of the biggest stove brands in the country a real run for their money. It’s no wonder then that its host of impressive features and benefits, along with its great all-round value for money, have been deservedly recognised at this year’s Hearth & Home trade show by being awarded the prestigious Wood & Multi Fuel Appliance of the Year, 2018.
*What the Government’s Clean Air Strategy actually said about stoves… We are working with industry bodies such as Hetas and the Stove Industry Alliance on a dedicated campaign to inform retailers of Ready to Burn and Ecodesign Ready, providing free point of sale information for consumers and technical bulletins for industry and trade… to ensure that stove retailers and installers understand their role in educating the consumer on the benefits of buying the right stove and using an accredited installer, using the correct fuels, and ensuring regular servicing / chimney sweeping. Together, these actions can safeguard consumers and will have a big impact on the level of emissions from domestic burning… we will ensure that only the cleanest stoves are available for sale by 2022.
